Free Huckabee the Little Blue Dragon Colouring Picture

April's been quite a hectic month with things happening all over the place and I've got to say how delighted I am with the reception you've all given to Huckabee. (He's the little blue guy on the left there.)

In fact I've had so many emails from you about him, that 'Yes', he will appear in another adventure very soon in the near future. I'm afraid I can't be more precise at the moment but as soon as things finalize you'll hear about it here first I promise.

So in the meantime I've included a new picture of Huckabee you can colour in on the Colouring Page.

Now I don't know if you remember or not, but what seems like ages ago I promised to tell you when I knew more about the publishing date for Georgia the Cow in her very first interactive story 'Georgia's Big Idea'. Well hopefully it looks like her App will go live on the iTunes Store very soon and as soon as that happens there'll be a certain competition I'm dying to tell you all about!

In fact it went to the number one position in Canada and Japan and achieved a top five position in the U.K. and United States, as Huckabee himself would say "Phooaarrr!"

Huckabee the Little Blue Dragon

Whoopee! You know when you get that excited feeling running up and down your spine - well guess what ...I've got it. My latest children's picture book, 'Huckabee the Little Blue Dragon' is now available on Kindle.

As you may have already guessed from the title, Huckabee is a dragon who's small and blue, not the perfect combination when you  want to be green and imposing.

Still Huckabee learns that, just because he isn't the same as everyone else, it doesn't mean that he isn't special in his own right.

Deep down, 'Huckabee the Little Blue Dragon' is really a story about self esteem and learning to like yourself for who you are, but if that sounds a little tough going for your average 3-5 year old don't despair because the story is fun to read.

Huckabee the Little Blue Dragon is available now on Kindle and FREE from Saturday 30th March to Monday 1st April.

Hope you enjoy it and if you've got time please leave a review on Amazon. Thanks

Flick finds a Friend - Book Review

Flick finds a friend by Drew Fielding is a timeless tale of friendship between a cow and a mouse.

In fact Flick is a cow who, on the face of it, has everything a cow could possibly need, food, warmth and a field of beautiful grass to
eat but deep down she's unhappy because the one thing she hasn't got is a friend.

Now finding a friend for a cow is much harder than you might at first expect especially when the cow in question isn't exactly light on her feet (think big cow - heavy hooves- squashed prospective friend). However, all ends well when Flick meets Sid a little mouse with a big attitude

Flick finds a Friend really is a lovely story that parents and children will want to read over and over again and as the author Drew Fielding says 'the themes of rejection and friendship are something that we will all experience at some time in our life but it's always reassuring to realize that happiness can be found just when you least expect it!'

Flick finds a Friend is available now on Kindle

STOP PRESS Flick finds a Friend is FREE to download this Weekend the 9th and 10th of March 2013

Emilio in the Snow

Emilio in the Snow

Written by Alice Jackson and Silvina De Vita, 'Emilio in the Snow' is a beautiful rhyming picture book that's perfect for adults to read to their little ones and great for early readers to get their own teeth into.

In this adventure Emilio (who's a 'pocket toy') is introduced to the magical wonder of the snowy outdoors by his owner James, as they sledge, throw snowballs and make that all important snowman.

The third adventure in the 'Emilio' series, Emilio in the Snow continues in the same entrancing vein as it's predessors and doesn't disappoint.

Written in a deceptively simple and engaging style by Alice Jackson, the rhyming text is admirably complemented by Silvina De Vita's delightfully memorable illustrations, combining together to create a welcome addition to any child's bookcase.
In short I liked Emilio in the Snow a lot - but don't just take my opinion for it, why not click on the link below and check it out for yourself.

I Like Breakfast

I've got to say I'm pretty excited, my brand new picture book 'I Like Breakfast' is hot off the kindle press today!
I know we've all heard the old expression 'Breakfast is good for you' but sadly we don't always take on board good advice, especially when you've got a fussy eater and the busy day is crowding in all around us.

That's why 'I Like Breakfast' is such a useful children's picture book, not only is it humourous and engaging but it also gently educates your child into wanting a healthy breakfast.

Anyway I hope you have as much fun reading  'I Like Breakfast' as I had creating it.
Happy Eating - Dan

Hello! It's Hello World Day

Have you ever heard of ‘Hello World Day’?

I must admit I was completely oblivious of it until today and then someone I’d never met before said Hello to me and then explained why.

Apparently, every 21st of November (Hello World Day), the idea is to say ‘Hello’ to at least ten people, as a simple message to everyone that communication amongst ourselves is a pretty cool idea.

So to everyone who is reading this, ‘Hello’ and have a very happy ‘Hello World Day’.

Georgia's Big Idea

Say hello to Georgia the cow, the star and eponymous heroine of  'Georgia's Big Idea'.

Now Georgia is not you normal everyday cow, admittedly she's happy and contented munching grass and living by the sea but when she gets an idea into her head, she's a cow on a mission.
And this time Georgia's big idea is to fly!!!

Well as you can imagine getting a cow to be airborne is pretty difficult, even on a good day, so Georgia's journey of discovery is fraut with trials and tribulations, however, along the way she learns that perserverance is a quality that quite often helps you achieve your dreams.

Wonderfully narrated and already a winner in the InteractBooks international 'Bring your Book to Life' contest, Georgia's Big Idea is an interactive children's picture book that's ideal for young readers everywhere. Featuring many of the United Kingdom's recommended Key Stage 1 'High Frequency' words it's a beautiful rhyming story that will be loved by children, teachers and parents the world over.

Georgia's Big Idea will be available to download in the very near future... As they say 'Watch this space for details!'

Have you seen Georgia on the Colouring Page

Say hello to Georgia the cow, she's the heroine in my latest story/interactive App 'Georgia's Big Idea'.
I 've got to admit it I'm pretty excited, as this is the first time Georgia has sneaked out into the public gaze. You see, sometime during this month ( hooves crossed) Georgia will be able to bound across your iPad in all of her glory (but more of that at a later date).
In the meantime, Georgia has made her debut on the free colouring page. If you remember I did promise to keep on adding new colouring page images, so print her off at your leisure and happy colouring in.
